{"id":4632,"date":"2026-09-11T08:58:49","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T06:58:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/galmallorca.org\/almost-everything-ready-for-the-2nd-palma-sustainable-fisheries-conference\/"},"modified":"2026-09-11T09:17:35","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T07:17:35","slug":"almost-everything-ready-for-the-2nd-palma-sustainable-fisheries-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/galmallorca.org\/en\/almost-everything-ready-for-the-2nd-palma-sustainable-fisheries-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Almost Everything Ready for the 2nd Palma Sustainable Fisheries Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-1 wp-block-paragraph\">GALP Mallorca, in collaboration with the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands and Palma City Council, has now practically finalized the programme for the <strong>2nd Palma Sustainable Fisheries Conference<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><style>\r\na {\r\n    text-decoration: none;\r\n    color: #464feb;\r\n}\r\ntr th, tr td {\r\n    border: 1px solid #e6e6e6;\r\n}\r\ntr th {\r\n    background-color: #f5f5f5;\r\n}\r\n<\/style>&#13;\n<div>The event, which will take place on <strong>1 and 2 October at the Port Center of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands<\/strong>, will once again bring together fisheries professionals, researchers, public administrations, businesses and training centres to share experiences and discuss the main challenges and opportunities facing sustainable fisheries in the Balearic Islands.<\/div><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the confirmed highlights is the participation of <strong>Joan Simonet, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment of the Balearic Islands Government<\/strong>, as well as representatives from the commercial and food distribution sectors, including <strong>Hipercentro<\/strong>, maritime and fisheries vocational training centres, and professionals from different areas of the fishing industry, who will provide first-hand insight into the realities of the profession.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme includes presentations on marine conservation, the mitigation of accidental catches, the responsible consumption of seafood products from the Balearic Islands, and several projects promoted by GALP Mallorca.
