This informative session marks the beginning of a series of calls that will run until 2028\u2014or until funds are exhausted\u2014with the aim of supporting sustainable projects in Mallorca\u2019s fishing sector.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

On 19 September 2025, at the PIMECO headquarters, GALP Mallorca held a presentation session for its newly published call for grants, officially announced in the BOIB on 11 September. The event brought together representatives from the fishing sector, including fishers\u2019 guilds, fishermen, research and training centres, and other local stakeholders. It was also streamed live online for those unable to attend in person.<\/p>\n\n

During the session, the GALP technical team presented the details of the call, explaining the eligibility requirements, the types of projects that can be funded, and the application process. The team highlighted that the grants are aimed at initiatives that contribute to modernising and improving the efficiency of the fishing sector, enhancing its economic performance, promoting territorial cooperation, and improving the sector\u2019s image by emphasising its social and cultural value\u2014especially to encourage the participation of young people and women.<\/p>\n\n

The session also covered the eligibility criteria, funding percentages, eligible actions, required documentation, and submission deadlines. The technical team stressed the importance of submitting well-defined proposals aligned with the Local Development Strategy (EDLP) and encouraged participants to use the technical proposal template available on the GALP Mallorca website. At the end of the session, attendees had the opportunity to share and discuss questions and ideas with other participants.<\/p>\n\n

The first call, open until 10 October 2025, allocates a budget of \u20ac638,417.07 to selected projects. The second call will open on 11 October 2025 and remain open until 31 December 2025. From then on, new calls are expected to be launched every six months until the end of 2028, with similar budgets, or until available funds are exhausted. \n<\/p>\n\n
