GRUP D'ACCIÓ LOCAL PESQUER

GALP Mallorca is a private, non-profit, associative entity that represents public and private interlocutors from different fields related to the marine sector on the island of Mallorca.

The main objective of GALP Mallorca is the implementation of Priority 3 of the European Maritime Fund for Fisheries and Aquaculture (EMFAF) Regulation, to enable a sustainable blue economy in coastal, island and inland areas, and to promote the development of fishing and aquaculture communities.

The Governing Council is the governement and management body of the association. Its objective is to represent and look after the interests of the entity. The members of the Governing Council are chosen from among the members of the GALP association for a period of 4 years and represent the different entities that make up the entity and their interests. The Governing Council is also the body that evaluates the grants applications.

The technical team is in charge of the daily operation of the GALP. It is also in charge of the tasks related to the management of the calls for grants, the dissemination and communication of the GALP's activities and the identification of other funding sources of interest.

The main objective of the GALP is accomplished through the following actions:

  • Develop: preparation and drafting of the Participatory Local Development Strategy.
  • Counseling: support to potential beneficiaries in the preparation of grants.
  • Management: management of applications and of the procedure for awarding and justifying grants.
  • Promote: improvement of the sector through the execution of or participation in projects of interest.
